Roman Abramovich may be unable to splash the cash in the transfer market
– but he’s not letting that stop him from treating himself.
With Chelsea’s transfer ban still very much in force and there being little indication that we will be able to sign players this summer, you could forgive Roman for being glad he can save some cash this year.
However, the Russian billionaire has not used it as an opportunity to tighten his belt, rather an opening for him to spend some money on himself, opposed to inflated, cash-hungry, mercenaries.
According to The Sun, Abramovich is to purchase the most expensive house in Israel, which the report notes set him back as much as £50M. Blimey, that’s a whole Fernando Torres.
The Sun write that Abramovich already bought a hotel in Tel Aviv after being granted Israeli citizenship. Clearly that wasn’t sufficient space for him to conduct his desired activities.
We eagerly await the day that he can invest his money into improving Chelsea’s squad once again. That is, if he has any left by that time.
