AND NOW THEIR WATCH HAS ENDED: a case study on suicide.

              According to wikipedia; Suicide is the act of intentionally causing one's own death.^[6] Mental disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders,

and substance abuse—including alcoholism and the use of benzodiazepines—are risk factors. 
              I painstakingly went through the profile of most of the suicide victims in the last two weeks and though this phenomenon has been strange to us Nigerians, it has always been part of our very existent as a people. our fathers treated it as a taboo and same feeling and sentiment has been passed down consciously and sub-consciously from generation to generation. This sentiment has led to the general notion of condemnation and judgement of victims who are neither there to defend themselves or state reasons why they did it. solution to this recurring problem and impending doom has eluded us because we concentrate our forces on the why, what, when instead of how to prevent it occurrence.
             Suicide has many factors but the major and the most appealing in my context is Depression.
why Depression?
Every financially handicap man in Nigeria knows what depression feels like, directly or indirectly especially in an economy like Nigeria. A depressed man is an orphaned  to everything in this world food and sleep included. everything that has matter and form deserts you including the very air you breathe. like a victim wrote on his page, you are afraid to live and afraid to die. hmmm such a pathetic situation. you feel as if nature is fucking you from every available hole in your body. 
you see people going mad and you think it is juju or family problem but has it ever occur to you that depression is one of the major cause?
how do people get away from depression?
quite an easy cause of action for the extroverts, i doubt the introverts have such luxury.
some do crazy things like getting drunk and going nude(a case seen of recent on instagram)
some try as much as possible to have fun in every possible way they can.
some become poets and writers.
some become inventors
while some resort to all manners of crimes just to escape it.
Those that can't afford any of those alternative seek justification to end their life.
why do they end their life?
A question i have never been able to understand or provide an appropriate answer for but just two words which are; AN ESCAPE.
WARNING 1:
To those that have watch game of thrones, though its a fiction and fantasy world but it quite applicable to real life scenarios. E.G when jon snow was brought back to life, he warned the red priestess never to do it again. why? to him death was like an escape from all the problems in the world though in his case it wasn't suicide but a suicide patient would probably warm you not to bring them back from death.
Valar Morghulis in game of thrones means all men must die,
most suicide victim take solace in this phrase but they forget that there is a counter adage for the first which is VALAR DOHAERIS meaning all men must serve. in the right context, the word serving means living and by implication man owes it to nature to live as well as to die when the time comes(not when you decide that its the time). if you didn't decide when and how to be born then it is selfish to decide when to die. the circle is not yours to complete.
SHOCKER:
To those judging this sick people instead of giving them hope for tomorrow, you are encouraging more to take that path but don;t forget that every man living, lives a suicidal life.
why am i saying this?
don't smoke, smokers are liable to die young; you smoke as if the air you breathe depends on it.
reduce intake of meat yet you eat like tomorrow wont come.
we drink alcohol like the fishes in the river.
we have practically stopped eating natural meals instead our kidneys and livers are laboring under heavy cancerous and packaged food intake of the 21st century.
Every activity we do daily leads us to the end of our watch. what then is suicide? search your soul and find the answer and maybe then you might acknowledge that the N100, kind words, love, sympathy, encouragement and humanity would have saved a soul.
