GAME OF THRONES season eight will pick up from the tumultuous events of last season where one long-awaited romance finally blossomed.

Season seven of Game of Thrones saw Jon Snow(played by Kit Harington) getting intimate with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).
Although, unbeknownst to them, they are in fact aunt and nephew on the HBO series.
But some fans think the relationship isn’t quite what it seems for other reasons.
One viewer has devised a theory which suggests Jon could have other motives for embarking on a romance with her that aren’t to do with love.
Reddit user chitowngirl12 wrote: “What is your opinion that Jon....May be playing Daenerys....I know that this is the theory of Sansa fans.
“(And no I don't think that he ends up with his sister/ cousin. I don't think that any romantic relationships last. The show's core is more about family than about romantic love).
“However, I like the general idea that Jon is partially seducing Daenerys and his intentions might not be pure more than him just making dumb political decision after dumb political decision and selling out his people for a booty call.”
So, could it be that Jon is using Daenerys for his own gain?
However, some fans were in disagreement as they believe Jon’s intentions were pure.
One shared: “He is the most honorable person is Westeros…”
“Jon is literally the purest being on the whole show. Other than Hodor & Shireen,” a second added.
A third questioned: “For what motive/end game? He hasnt really ever been deceitful before like that. In fact he has been spontaneous and passionate far more often.”
Viewers will have to wait and see what happens when the show returns next year.
But it remains to be seen whether the two fan favourites will make it to the end given the programme’s history of killing off characters.
Meanwhile, although Jon’s true parentage only emerged in season seven, his fate may have been revealed far earlier.
It all goes back to Jon and the direwolf he was given in the first episode of the debut series.
A fan of the series believes the characteristics of the animal foreshadowed the truth about Jon.
“When Ghost’s appearance is first described, it makes sense that his colouring greatly differs from the other direwolves - each wolf reflects their future owner, and Jon is a bastard, so he’s clearly different from the other Stark children,” wrote Reddit user, TheSunburnedZebra.
They continued: “It occurred to me later that the white fur and red eyes could easily be a reference to the combination of ice and fire, and thus a very early hint to Jon’s parents being Lyanna and Rhaegar.”
Game of Thrones season 8 will return to HBO and Sky Atlantic in 2019. Seasons 1-7 are currently streaming on NOW TV.
