Thibaut Courtois questions Loris Karius’ concussion diagnosis after Champions League final

Thibaut Courtois questions claims Loris Karius was 'concussed' vs Real Madrid

Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois claims it’s ‘strange’ that Loris Karius was diagnosed with a concussion following his horror show in the Champions League final. Karius made two shocking mistakes as Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev and an assessment carried out earlier this week declared that the German was concussed. Sergio Ramos appeared to connect with Karius’ head just moments before his first blunder which led to Karim Benzema’s opening goal. The goalkeeper was also at fault for Madrid’s third as he fumbled Gareth Bale’s long-range effort into the net in the
83rd minute.

on Instagram Asked about Karius’ concussion diagnosis, Courtois responded: ‘It happened to me with Alexis Sanchez — I had a concussion and I couldn’t see the ball, so after 20 minutes I went out of the game because I couldn’t see the ball. ‘I feel sorry for what happened with him, but to blame it on concussion that he made those mistakes — he also made two amazing saves. So that was luck then? I don’t know because he couldn’t see the ball. He said after the game he made two mistakes, I think everyone will accept that. It can happen as a goalkeeper but to blame it on a concussion now, I find it strange. ‘But if medics say that from Boston, it’s OK.’ Many believe that Loris Karius has played his last match for the Reds (Picture: Getty) Sergio Ramos denies that he injured Liverpool’s stars on purpose (Picture: Getty) Madrid defender Ramos hit back at claims he deliberately injured Karius and Mohamed Salah in the final. He told Spanish outlet AS: ‘Bloody hell, they’ve given this a lot of attention, the Salah thing… I didn’t want to speak because everything is magnified.
