Emerging Tigers of the Promised Land;Part 2

 By Mfon Patrick
All my life, in all season; Good or bad. I have
never spent a month in my home state. I don't
know if that will happen but if it does, I can see
the unfinished part of that stay: looks so
beautiful. I feel joy. It's not been that bad, I've
visited all the local government areas of that
lovely state. So rich and green.
Now, I drew the curtain but I didn't close the
door thus far, am here to remind you that NOW
IS THE TIME TO TELL YOU ABOUT AKWA IBOM
PEOPLE. I have been to virtually, all states in
Nigeria, interacted with people of diverse culture.
Trust me, Akwa Ibom people stand out with the
energy of a silent achiever. In unity with the
drive and passion of other Nigerians; we have
tend to make a great country. I love this nation,
Nigeria.
Today, politics is suddenly giving us people to
learn from. One of them is UMANA OKON
UMANA. That name! Sounds weighty, right? I
guess, you'll hear different opinion but mine is
what you're spending time on now. Sorry if it
doesn't please your ears. But it's mine.
Some people may play politics of hatred with a
high sense of beclouded emotions forgetting we
hail from one state, AKWA IBOM. But I am far
from the politics of hates. I debate, I settle for
superior argument, you win! I celebrate your
bravery. I win; I leap in joy. I attach no emotions,
I make nobody enemy because I gun for the
unity of Akwa Ibom front. A better Niger Delta, a
stronger South South.
In my keen interest as an apprentice of politics, I
found a man who redefines, TENACITY,
OPTIMISM, PASSION. This is an Akwa Ibom man
impregnated with these core values to achieving
dreams. Umana Okon Umana, has recorded his
name as the strongest man from Akwa Ibom
who isn't familiar to the word, 'QUIT' nor 'GIVE-
UP.' Anybody, with this kind of passion and drive
has become the Martin Luther King Jnr. that
fought for the emancipation of the black race.
I'm proud we have people like this that makes
democracy more interesting and eye-opening.
Umana Okon Umana, has shaken the media to
it's foundation. It is good for democracy. The
beauty of freedom of expression magnifies itself.
You see? Akwa Ibom people are not timid. They
can stand up to any cause. I have learnt that
such struggle can truly bring the mighty to
identify with the grassroot people. That's great.
Youths feel at home which was expressed in the
massive turn-out witnessed yesterday at the
airport awaiting the arrival of this great man
# UOU. I see beyond politics. I saw revolution.
Still a positive one though. Umana Okon Umana
is a great son of AKWA IBOM. We value him too.
We don't war as the media paint it. We celebrate
his bravery. With people like him: proves we have
men in South South that can hold firm to their
grounds. I admire the spirit.
Engr Ini Piano queried in my first episode of this
piece. "How did you know about Vincent
Enyeama? Lol and Hmm, why is Gov. Obong
Victor Attah resounding in my head?" Obong
Victor Attah, an erudite architect of this great
nation, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State. Is
another great son who fought and stamped his
voice to the onshore/offshore oil dichotomy
struggle. That's a force we can't forget in Akwa
Ibom State and Nigeria as a whole.
Ach. Victor Attah, a former governor of this
amiable state of ours has since been walking this
country making exceptional inputs to improve
this nation. At the last CONFAB which hail in
Abuja, the expression of RESPECT to an
elderstatesman was shown whenever he stood
up to make his case. I respect Obong Victor
Attah. One of the greatest son of Akwa Ibom.
Google him.
Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma, our new and finest
minister Nigeria is about to unveil is a proud son
of Akwa Ibom not Cross River State as reported
by some news media. Take your mind memory
lane, you can recall one of the very best senator
Nigeria ever birthed. He showed the way and led
the way. Welcome back to the top management
of this great country, Nigeria! Sen. Udoma Udo
Udoma, is the man of the moment! Great leader.
I just stopped by to call your attention to this,
Akwa Ibom people are great and lovable. We
don't war. We are endeared to peace. We are
not a state that is self-made. We appreciate and
lean on the shoulders of giants to grow. Dear
friends in the comity of states; you are that
GIANT! Speak well of your state. I'm proudly
Akwa Ibom son, come get a wife in my state; I
can assure you of long life. I think I have where
to go now, later please. I stand up for the UNITY
OF AKWA IBOM STATE. One love!
To be continued... # MP !

NOW IS THE TIME TO TELL YOU ABOUT AKWA
IBOM PEOPLE:#DAKKADA

I don't mean to be me but that's all I am. I
admire leaders than I could waste time tripping
for a footballer. They are great people and I
admire their strength. I just don't know how to
give them my time. That could be my fault
anyway. I know I have missed a lot, I guess. At
least, I'm proud of Vincent Enyeama!
While, growing up. I read much about great
leaders from the likes of Bill Clinton, Nelson
Mandela, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Awolowo and a
handful of them but none from my tribe except
the name of Dr. Clement Isong, U. J. Esuene
that rang bell.
But If I discuss with my northern or south-
western friends today and I dare mention those
names; it sounds like music in their ears.
Confidently, they would tell me, "Mfon, you need
not google for Sen. Godswill Akpabio, that man is
great." Akwa Ibom state was there, I mean just
there until a real man with the backbone break
even.
Like the voice in the desert crying out for people
to make way for the Lord's coming, that's how
Sen. Godswill Akpabio, has become a strong
voice for PDP and the great people of Akwa
Ibom State. Today, a whole lot of us can truly
speak up and ride through that political pathway
created by this man of noble standing.
Where are they big names in PDP now? As you
can see Sen. Godswill Akpabio, is the only voice
left. His counsel has given life to PDP at the
national level. The 8th assembly are so thrilled
when this great man speaks. He speaks wisdom
with diplomacy adding a comic flavour to it.
I also salute the likes of Arc Ezekiel Nya-Etok. If
given an opportunity to write a tribute about this
noble man, three words will readily come to my
mind. INTELLIGENCE. STYLE. IDEAS. Arc Ezekiel
Nya-Etok, is such a man with great ideas that
only his style of delivery would show he's not
battling with intelligence. He is sound in handling
housing and public service. Intelligent in giving
inspirational touch to your dreams. This is what
Akwa Ibom represents; friends not war.
Another man worth mention is, Sen. Ita Solomon
Enang. Channels Tv would dare not be in
business if in any year this great son of ours
does not open his floodgates of ideas to our
nation. His relevance is such that can't be
ignored by the current president. He needed men
of integrity. He found it in Akwa Ibom State. I
stand for the unity of Akwa Ibom people.
Udom Emmanuel, announced his presence. World
Pension Summit has birthed another economic
giant to our nation. Things will get more better
with this insightful leader, so confident in all he
does.
These are my Akwa Ibom people. We are great.
We don't war; we are covered with the blanket
of unity and love. Just wait a minute, I will soon
unveil Sen. Udoma Udo Udoma, to you great
friends. Akwa Ibom State is blessed and not the
negative things you read online. Make Enwongo
C. Cleopas a friend and it will be revealed to you
what the youths of this great state represent. We
represent diligence, purpose, knowledge, ideas
and sound minds with the solution for Nigeria.
Dear friends, if you have no friend from this part
of the world, please quickly get close to one.
You'll experience a new Nigeria in us. I stand for
Akwa Ibom.written by Mfon Patrick
